Excellence in Entrepreneurship
Excellence in Entrepreneurship (EIE) is a non-degree certificate program developed by the UCF-CEL faculty in partnership with the UCF Incubator program to provide education to community members interested in growing their company in the UCF Incubator program. The EIE program offers a very real look at the challenges and struggles that often arise when starting and growing a new business and is used as part of the process of screening applicants to the incubator program.
Invention2Venture (I2V)
Every fall the UCF CEL hosts a one-day boot camp that describes the basics of technology entrepreneurship. The workshop is intended primarily for students and faculty, but is also open to anyone who is interested in innovation and technology ventures. Presentations focus on intellectual property, market strategy, business planning, and related topics. Expert guest speakers are drawn from the region. Invention to Venture workshops are held in partnership with the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA).
Executive Leadership Seminars
The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership hosts presentations each semester from top executives from Central Florida’s leading employers. These presentations focus on leadership challenges facing each speaker, and career advice to help students improve their professional readiness. Our first presentation in Spring 2010 featured Stefan Jacoby, CEO & President of Volkswagen Group of America, who discussed Volkswagen’s competitive strategies and emerging innovations and trends. These workshops are open to all UCF students, faculty and staff.
Commercialization Acceleration Workshops
The Commercialization Acceleration workshops provides UCF faculty and graduate researchers with information regarding commercializing their research-based innovations. Workshop participants will learn from leaders of UCF’s award-winning economic development agencies such as the Incubation Program, the Office of Technology Transfer and the Venture Lab. The series covers topics ranging from technology assessment of intellectual property rights, and funding options for promising innovations. This workshop series is open to UCF faculty, staff, and graduate students.
Entrepreneurial Wisdom Workshops
This workshop series invites students to benefit from the wisdom of “been there – done that”, street-smart, battle-tested entrepreneurs. These speakers have gained many lessons from the school of hard knocks, and have learned how to be resourceful and resilient on their journey toward success. They are anxious to share their lessons in hopes of promoting students’ success. These workshops are held approximately once a month and are open to all UCF students, faculty and staff.
