Assessing Business Concepts
The UCF CEL, in collaboration with the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance is proud to introduce “KnightLaunch”, a suite of business concept assessment tools and business planning resources aimed at improving the rigor and comprehensiveness of venture formulation processes.
KnightLaunch offers a general “first screen” for business concepts and a more tailored assessment for technology innovations. Both assessments have been adopted from methods used extensively in the business community and validated by academic reviews. We offer these assessments as a means of quickly determining a proposal’s strengths and weaknesses, gauging the degree of uncertainty associated with these assessments, and directing future efforts toward those areas needing additional research and revision. Registered users of these tools may invite others to assess their ideas by uploading information to the KnightLaunch website and emailing assessment requests in a manner similar to other social networking websites. Research demonstrates that help-seeking behavior is essential to creative breakthroughs, and we hope this tool can help nascent entrepreneurs acquire more and better feedback from experts, mentors, colleagues, and service providers.
