The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation hosted our 9th annual Joust Semi-Final Competition this past Friday. We were very pleased with the turn out and also the quality of all of the business plans presented! Below are the names, company name, and description of each of the four finalists that will be moving on to our Joust Finals Competition.

Malic Dekkar- PHIDIAS3D- PHIDIAS3D is an emerging construction intelligence company that specializes in providing engineering-grade, millimeter-accurate 3D data of any existing building structure. By leveraging our expertise in algorithm design, we effectively increase construction fidelity and efficiency and cost of ownership while providing permanent accurate 3D records- considerably lowering risk and costs.

Michael Irene- Greek Guide- The Greek Guide is a mobile application to enhance the learning of new members within the Greek community of Fraternities and Sororities by using push notification technology with cognitive learning techniques to make learning easier and more effective. New members can now learn a Fraternity’s/Sorority’s entire history with ease.

Alexandra Gramatikas- ALTR LLC- ALTR is dedicated to providing easy and affordable alternatives to our existing every day apparel. We’ve created a way to “ALTR” your existing blazer, polo, cardigan, or anything else with buttons, by adorning it with our innovative button cover- thus transforming a plain blazer into a trendy UCF sporting jacket.

Tyler Salem- PlatForm- PlatForm allows businesses to create custom electronic signable forms to be used by the business’ clients. The technology our software uses is not new, but our tablet based approach is. Our software is to be used by front end users on tablet computers such as Apple iPad, Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy, etc.

Our Joust Finals Competition will be taking place Friday April 6, 2012 at the Fairwinds Alumni Center. We highly encourage you to come out and join us for another great Joust Competition. The finalists have some great ideas and it will also be a great networking opportunity. Check in will start at 1pm and we look forward to hopefully seeing you there!
