Michael recently joined the Strategy and Entrepreneurship faculty at UCF as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2010. Mike received his PhD. in Management & Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests involve innovation and commercialization, especially among high-tech start-ups. Prior to academia, Mike spent a number of years in commercial banking.

Erwin Danneels is Associate Professor of Strategy at UCF. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Penn State University. His teaching focuses on commercialization of new technology, and he researches the growth and renewal of corporations, particularly in the face of changing technological environments. He has published in top academic journals such as the Journal of Product Innovation Management and the Strategic Management Journal, and he is a member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.

Cameron earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Penn State University before joining UCF. Cameron’s scholarly interests focus on creativity and entrepreneurship by describing how novel ideas evolve, gain legitimacy, and attract resources during the new venture emergence process. His research has appeared in over 60 academic papers including publications in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

Kathie has been a full time instructor in the Management Department at UCF since 2001 and an adjunct instructor since 1986. Kathie’s areas of expertise include entrepreneurship, consulting and training. She holds several certifications in business consulting and diversity training and also serves as the faculty advisor to the CEO Knights at UCF and is a certified volunteer business analyst for the Florida Small Business Development Center Network.

Joshua Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA with a certificate in entrepreneurship from the University of Central Florida. While working on his degrees, he began studying social media strategies for the purpose of business communication and marketing. He has created and implemented social media campaigns and strategies for the National Entrepreneur Center (formerly known as the Disney Entrepreneur Center), The City of Orlando, Orlando, Inc. (Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce), as well as several other organizations. He specializes in educating the small business community on blending social media marketing with traditional marketing channels and regularly speak to civic and business groups on the topic.

Michael has 38 years of business experience and a long history of entrepreneurial involvement including company founder, private equity financing, lease financing, debt and equity placement, equipment asset management, business plan development, manufacturing management, and business consulting. He has served on the Board of Directors for financing entities in the US, UK, Germany and Australia. Michael recently joined UCF as the Executive in Residence for the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership . He is an instructor for the Department of Management in the College of Business Administration, teaching New Venture Finance in 2010.

Tom is the Associate Vice President of Research at UCF and the Founding Director of the UCF Incubator Program. Tom has a long history as an entrepreneur and has assisted in the formation of several spin-off companies for technologies developed at UCF. His Incubator Program was recently named Incubator of the Year by the National Business Incubator Association.

Richard joined the Management faculty at the University of Central Florida’s College of Business Administration in 1999 after retiring from a successful 27-year career at Eastman Kodak Company. While at Kodak, Richard served as Manager of World Wide Market Planning for the Office Imaging Division. He was responsible for managing Office Imaging’s Document Imaging Systems business unit within the U.S. and Canada, including execution of U.S. and Canadian markets annual operating plan and development of pricing, promotion, and channel strategies. Richard currently teaches Management Strategy, Entrepreneurship, New Venture Finance, and Business Plan Development.
